  • Remove the grater and unscrew the white disk.
  • All the pieces of the Fresh Mill Granita are dishwasher-safe.

Frozen sticks

  • Prepare your ready-to-grate frozen sticks using the pods supplied with the mill.
  • Fill 2 pods at the same height and keep 4 hours in the freezer.

Assembling

  1. Place the grater and its threaded shaft at the bottom of the transparent body.
  2. Engage the colored base of the mill onto these 2 parts by pushing and turning until you hear a click.
  3. Push the two frozen sticks down to the bottom of the Fresh Mill Granita. Make sure the 2 sticks are the same height.
  4. Engage the white disk in the threaded shaft and push it until it is touching the frozen sticks.
  5. Fresh Mill Granita grates your frozen preparation into snow, quickly and effortlessly in just the quantity you want.
  6. After use, replace the lid and quickly put away the Fresh Mill in the freezer.
  7. If the frozen sticks are too hard, they may block the grinder. If that happens, just leave the mill for a few minutes at room temperature before grating.

Tips and Tricks

  • Lemon juice can be improved by mixing in zests or aromatic plants before freezing. Once they’ve been grated using the Fresh Mill Granita, these ingredients will add all their flavours without changing the texture.
  • Flavoured snow melts quite fast. To reduce this, refrigerate the container beforehand (plates, glasses…). Try to present the snow in compact form (using cutters, glasses, or assembling it into a pile).
  • How easy it is to grate the ice will depend on the composition of the liquid preparation. To make the ice easier to grate, you can leave the Fresh Mill Granita to warm up for a while, or run it quickly under the hot tap before use. You can also make the ice easier to grate by adding ingredients to the liquid preparation, such as sugar, oil or a little alcohol.
  • Alcohol is one of the most effective ways of making ice more crumbly. Generally, a final alcohol content of 1 to 2° is enough.
  • Fill the 2 pods to the same level, to avoid throwing the mill and its push disc off balance. Leave a little room when filling to give the product space to dilate when freezing.
  • To make it easier to empty the pods, allow a little air to enter between the plastic wall and the ice.
  • The small cap is sometimes a bit tricky to remove when you want to empty the pods, especially when the plastic is new. Prise it off carefully using the tip of a knife.
